We have all sorts of wildlife in this country, and very often it is something to be admired and enjoyed. However, that same wildlife can easily become a pest when it decides to adopt your home or business as a place to live rather than out in the wild where it should be.
You might not think that birds such as seagulls, pigeons, magpies, and crows could become a nuisance, but they most certainly can. Seagulls and pigeons nesting on your roof can actually cause serious damage by blocking up drainage systems with nesting materials and leaving acidic droppings all over the place. The late comedian Denis Norden had a joke which went "There is an unseen force which tells birds when you have just finished washing your car". As funny as that may seem, droppings can do a lot of damage. A build-up of seagull droppings, for instance, can be hazardous to health. Some of the diseases include encephalitis, salmonella, toxoplasmosis, meningitis, and more, and the same goes for pigeons.
Magpies can cause serious damage to livestock. Farmers hate them because they will peck the eyes out of new born lambs. They also pick open wounds and scabs on the backs of livestock which can then become infected and in severe cases may cause death.
You might not think that moths would cause a problem, and in one sense you are right because the adult moth is generally not harmful. However, it is their larvae which are the issue because they eat through wool and fibres and can cause serious damage to clothing. The carpet moth larvae can create holes in your expensive carpet, so if you have a moth problem you need to call a same day pest service in Lincolnshire because if you leave it, the population can explode out of control.
One or two flies around the place may not be much of a problem, but they can cause huge health risks if they come into contact with food. Flies can grow from eggs to adults in a single week, so if you have a fly problem you need to call in the experts without delay.
